My 2 1/2 cents worth.
I believe you get a better finish with hardener, but my dad got great finishes with the old synthol enamel. I do not know if the hardener helps with UV filtering.
I had childhood asthma real bad, and will get it occasionally now. I will wheeze up a little just being around fresh paint with hardener. I use breathing air and keep the air on until everything is cleaned up and I am completely out of the area. I do not go back into the area for several hours without the air on
I do know that hardener is required with enamels, but have heard mixed stories on urethane. I welcome feedback on this.
