1999 Chev Lumina with 292K miles, 3.1 L V6. I have had lifter rattle for some time. Is is safe to use some solvent product designed for this purpose, and not cause too much cleaning which may be more of a problem. Currently it is not using much oil and I do not want to cause it to start. Please let me hear your recommendations of what to use and what not to use.
