When the house at the farm was built, there weren't any tall trees close so no problem with the antenna. Fast forward 45 yrs and lots of tall trees. Antenna works good in the winter, but once the trees leaf out, reception drops to zero.
We put a small antenna on the other end of the house, more out in the open and get most of the channels we want.
We will eventually move the larger antenna to the other end of the house away from the trees.
