JohnT, Many years ago I purchased snake oil treatment at Bridgefest. They showed it in a running slant 6 with the oil pan removed. See how well it works.
Well I purchased a bottle, put in car when I changed oil. Then on Christmas day, while driving to N. Indiana, my daughter says, "Dad what's that red light blinking?" It was the check engine light. Nothing open. Roads were snow covered. Speeds under 40 mph car engine was shaking. I stopped and checked oil and water. Both were fine, so we drove for another hour.
Long story short, I needed to install a new O2 sensor. The new sensor said, DON'T USE OIL ADDITIVES. That was the first and last time I used snake oil. george
