I asked him about the war once. It was like he went into a trance, didn't say a word for several minutes. First time I ever heard him raise his voice.
"I don't care what you've heard 'bout what went on over there, what you've see in the movies, the TV. It was a thousand times worse!"
He stomped off in a rage, slammed the door! Never seen him act that way. Few minutes later he came back, like nothing ever happened. My Mom said he won't talk about it, don't ask him!
He's been gone about 20 years now, still miss him and his stories!
