Making corn or beans GMO does not increase yeilds.Plant breeders first find a top hybrid then they do the crossing to make it GMO.The reason the top yeilders are GMO is so the seed corn companies can charge more and get a better return on their research money.A local seed dealer was at his companies test plot day looking at future hybrids and found two that he wanted to order but was told that you will not see them for two more years because we have to make them roundup ready so we can charge more for them.I am not saying GMO's are bad as we grow both GMO and non GMO corn depending on the crop rotation and known weed pressure.
