Concerning your Walla Walla onions - - do you live near Walla Walla, Washington?
Many years ago I lived in Georgia. Vidalia, GA is the heart of the production area for Vidalia onions. I don't remember all of the details or the outcome of it all, but there was a big squabble concerning whether on not people could market "Vidalia" onions if they weren't grown in the county where Vidalia, GA is located.
Some group tried to trademark the name and restrict the use of it to just there little corner of the world.
