quite a difference in garden since 5-22-14. actually been an ideal spring for a garden; no long, past due cold snaps, adequate rain with no gully washers and then warm with partly cloudy skies with good humidity levels. sorry if i excite the lusts of you tomato lovers. will pick squash this afternoon. taters and walla walla onions already being harvested.

Pete,

Beautiful garden. Thanks for the pictures.

Concerning your Walla Walla onions - - do you live near Walla Walla, Washington?

Many years ago I lived in Georgia. Vidalia, GA is the heart of the production area for Vidalia onions. I don't remember all of the details or the outcome of it all, but there was a big squabble concerning whether on not people could market "Vidalia" onions if they weren't grown in the county where Vidalia, GA is located.

Some group tried to trademark the name and restrict the use of it to just there little corner of the world.

Do Walla Walla's have to be grown in Walla Walla?

Tom in TN

My sweetcorn (1st planting) is up an inch. Potatoes not up yet. Tomatoes, cabbage, broccoli, peppers planted last week. You got a head start.

I live in nw ala. walla Walla are short day onions, they will grow here but not to their typical large size. sweet onions though.

Nice looking garden, Pete. We are quite a bit behind that here. Tomamtos haven't blossomed yet and the taters just poking through. We are a week or two away from having radishes yet. Sweet corn is around 2-3 inches tall.
