I don't think your a failure, you made a business decision. As you stated no one left that wants to take over and you've had your fill. Better to go out on your terms than to hang around to long and loose it in a market cycle, drought or illness. Dairy cows are a tough way to make a living, if you have other ways to make ends meet it's not failure. The only way I would ever get involved in a dairy again is if it was big enough to support multiple families so with help you can get away enough to not let it control your life.
