Sorry for your dad's passing. It's tough changing the game plan on your farm after so many years of doing the same thing successfully. Not only will the barn be empty and quiet but the cash flow you are so accustomed to is thrown out of whack. Your daily schedule will be thrown off for awhile so I suggest you should start buying old tractors to get your mind off the cows. LOL
You might not have the cattle on the farm anymore but I can guarantee they will be in your dreams for a long time. I had dreams of my barn still being full of hogs for years after I got out. First the dreams were about a barn full of big, healthy, clean hogs ready for market. Toward the end of those dreams, maybe ten years later, the dream content centered on me forgetting about a pen of hogs that were out of feed for weeks but somehow still alive. Enjoy your new freedom.
