Thats their rite-of-way and they paid for that when line came thru probably in the agreement theres something about keeping it clean from growth that would bother their stuff how are they going to get thru vines ect to maintain their stuff we all need their product and sometimes thy need clear access to get thre if you kept it clean from unwanted stuff they woulldnt need to spray and they will pay good for damages read the agreement and then you will see why they sprayed.
