The biggest part of the Uncompagre Valley (Delta/Montrose) is irrigated from snow melt water,Stored in BlueMesa,Ridgeway,and Taylor reservoirs.Other smaller reservoirs are also used.It is slowly released over the course of the summer.The drought of the last two years has affected our supplys.we were down to 40% at time last summer.Rains saved our butts!!!Uncompagre Valley Water Users Association(UVWUA) is the largest system in the state.That is where I get the water for the 'home place'.
