I know I am late with this, but I found that I had lots less trouble with my feet, and with athlete"s foot when I started getting shoes that were wide enough for my very wide feet.
I also use the OTC medicated powder in each pair of shoes or boots a couple times a year. Between wearing wide footwear, clean socks every day and the medicated foot powder, I have not had any athlete"s foot between my toes in 20 years. What a relief!
