Athletes foot

Desenex, Lamasil, and other over the counter medication will treat it. Check at drug store. Using one of the foot powders helps keep it from recurring. Objective is to keep foot dry.

Or you could go barefooted, heating and drying the feet.

Had it off and on since the second Eisenhower administration. Nothing worked back then. Was told to go barefooted as much as possible. Did that anyway.
Now Lamisil cream from otc at the drug store cures it within a week on me.

I have/had some type of skin fungus that affected my right hand, it looks/looked just like athletes foot. I had been taking a presription for years to clear it up, but it always came back. Doc fixed me up with Lamisil in pill form. Not only did it clear up my hand, but the light athletes foot I had, and it hasnt been back in over a year now!

.".tough acting Tinactin" in a spray can, used in a lot of locker rooms for treatment or prevention and it does work well. "Tough actin Tinactin" is the motto of the company.

First you probably have to get rid of your boots. You can try the Tinactins ,Micatins, etc. If they don't work ,if it is really bad and none of the sprays are helping the only way is to soak your feet in DomeBoro solution. It is expensive but if the sprays aren't working it is the only way. I'm not saying the sprays won't do it i'm just saying what to do if it is extreme and resisting the sprays. DomeBoro is a powder you mix into the foot soaking water.
Bleach your socks too.

John, when I was a kid, we went to school in July and August and got out to pick cotton in the fall.
I went to school barefooted in the summer and most of the time only wore shoes to church. Might be why my feet are so wide. Even gravel did not hurt as my feet were so tough.

Mike you beat me to it!

I was going to say Tough Actin Tinactin too. Not because I've ever used it, but because advertising works!

Lamisil tablets are a real good treatment. You have to take them for 3 months most of time. Check your insurance first and see if it covers it and what the copay is.
When I was working 6 years ago, they cost $350 a month cash price

Lamisil worked for me but was sick for the three months I took it. Once I stopped taking it I was fine. Doctor has to run blood tests every three weeks while on it to check liver. Lamisil can damage liver. Some people can't take it all.

I did have to have prior approval from insurance company, but I got tired of waiting on that so I just paid for it. Wasnt but $60 for the prescription.

I was on fulvicin before and my doc said tha twas very bad for my liver, and made the comment the lamisil was so much better and safer. Never had any blood work done while I was on it, but I only had to take it for a month. In fact less, but I finished out the whole prescrp. My hand and the light amout of AF I had was cleared up with 3 weeks.

Friend of mine told me to use apple cider vinegar, been using it whenever I need. Pour some on my feet while taking a shower, I have the drain plugged, and let my feet soak while showering. My brother has good luck with it also. Cures heat rash in the privates also just tingles a bit:). chris

I get it every summer because my feet sweat so easily.

First I spray my boots heavily. Then I use the OTC creams. I can clear it up in 2-3 weeks. Typically Lotrimin cream works fine or just the house brand with the same active ingredient.

My doctor advised strongly against taking a prescription because it is hard on your liver. I did have a toe nail fungus, that after using the athletes foot cream, it disappeared.

I have been good for two summers. I have 3 pairs of boots I rotate through, so I dont wear the same, two days in a row, gives them time to air out.

For years Absorbine Junior was advertised as a cure for athletes foot. And it works. Cheap, no side effects or prescription required.

I pretty much did the same thing. I guess when I cut my foot open in Durbin Creek on a busted beer bottle, thats when I started wearing shows again, and stopped going swimming in the creeks.

Good plan. I never leave the house without some type of shoes or boots. My feet can't handle walking on sharp objects or whatever other type of disgusting objects might be laying on the ground.

After shave lotion has always worked for me. Usually clears it up in a couple of days.

Regular spray Lysol. Gets rid of fungus and bacteria. I spray my feet nightly, then after my morning shower. I spray my shoes regularly.

It burns like heck but it gets rid of the fungus in a couple days.

I know I am late with this, but I found that I had lots less trouble with my feet, and with athlete"s foot when I started getting shoes that were wide enough for my very wide feet.

I also use the OTC medicated powder in each pair of shoes or boots a couple times a year. Between wearing wide footwear, clean socks every day and the medicated foot powder, I have not had any athlete"s foot between my toes in 20 years. What a relief!
