I get it every summer because my feet sweat so easily.
First I spray my boots heavily. Then I use the OTC creams. I can clear it up in 2-3 weeks. Typically Lotrimin cream works fine or just the house brand with the same active ingredient.
My doctor advised strongly against taking a prescription because it is hard on your liver. I did have a toe nail fungus, that after using the athletes foot cream, it disappeared.
I have been good for two summers. I have 3 pairs of boots I rotate through, so I dont wear the same, two days in a row, gives them time to air out.
