Smple test ground the field and if that makes it charge the reg is bad if that doesent make it charge the gen is bad. You didnt say 6 or 12v or whether the reg is for pos ground or neg as which ground are you using gen doesent care but the reg sure does. Did you use the gens # when you got a reg as they need to be matched.Where did you get the reg as lots are sold at discount ect. Your gen is a Delco Remy so thats where to go for a reg at a dealer who sells Delco.
