I am having a lot of damage done by these "cute" little ground squirrels!
They have dug under my driveway and sidewalk and tore up most of my wife's flowers.
Enough is enough, so I tried the five gallon bucket and board and caught a few. I have also gotten a few with rat trap.
I did an experiment about a month ago, and it worked great.
I noticed when they see me, they will escape, most of the time, into the ten foot corrugated gutter drain.
I simply stop the open end of the drain pipe with a rag and spray Starting Fluid where the drain enters the downspout. A five or ten second spurt puts them to sleep.
A little more humaine and I have not seen one in several days.
Now to start repair to some of the holes they dug, and get after the Carpenter Bees that are doing extensive damage to my Barn and Deck!
