Billy NY,
We got rid of most of it, then had another foot show up around the 15th, that sorta disappeared,
and now this hits again. We've been going at it since October, and like you seeing it this late is quite annoying. The poplar trees were just starting to bud out, could see 1/2 of the lawn and the sides of the roads.

Right before this our apple trees haven't even blossomed out buds yet, nothing on the peach trees, the ground was dry enough to cultivate with the digger,(were all sand soil) no frost in the garden. Thought we would be done, butttt Noooo.lol.

The wife started some seeds a week ago to get a start on tomatoes, peppers etc, but hopefully the weather will cooperate soon. At least we've got some start on outside work(garden) and some yard cleanup from fall.

2 years ago the garden was in around the 2nd week in April, but last year was into last week of May. This year Mother Nature seems to be playing hide the peanut with us.A couple of nice days warm weather, windows open, then the rest of the time the wood furnace hasn't stopped going.

To date we've went thru about 14 cord of wood and still counting.Son has been cutting around our place to clean up dead trees to burn. Never went thru more than 12 cord of wood up at our place since 1988. He's hoping to get an early start on next years wood (20 cord, lol)so not to run out again. We definitely hate Indian cutting wood.

I'm surprised the farmers around here aren't plowing their fields in protest, but haven't been out to find out.

Thanks for the best wishes on the garden and I hope you the same.Probably going to get the rest done by mid May if all works out, will post pictures of the garden as it progresses.
Warmest regards,
LOU

Today's Featured Article - Third Brush Generators - by Chris Pratt. While I love straightening sheet metal, cleaning, and painting old tractors, I use every excuse to avoid working on the on the electrics. I find the whole process sheer mystery. I have picked up and attempted to read every auto and farm electrics book with no improvement in the situation. They all seem to start with a chapter entitled "Theory of Electricity". After a few paragraphs I usually close the book and go back to banging out dents. A good friend and I were recently discussing our tractor electrical systems when he stated "I figure it all comes back to applying Ohms Law". At this point ... [Read Article]
