As others have noted, bump-firing does NOT lend itself to accuracy of any sort. On the other hand, actual automatic rifles do not lend themselves to accuracy - more of suppression firepower in actual combat.
Greg1959, have you seen any of the videos where they use a bump-fire stock that works on the same principle as the gimmicky methods? While it isn"t much on accuracy either, it does give the shooter more ability to place a lot of bullets in a relatively small area, akin to what can be accomplished with fully automatic handheld rifles. At this point in time, the ATF folks don"t consider them illegal. (Maybe because they LIKE the idea of those type of shooters using up most of their ammo!)
