My 53 Super M quit charging. I figured it was the VR because it was buzzing and would charge sometimes and sometimes not. Well after a little bit of guess work I determined it was a Ford VR. I installed it and no go, no charge. Must be the alternator right? Went back to autozone and picked one of those up, also Ford part. Installed it, no charge. Traced wired couldn't find anything out of place. For some reason I cant even remember I plugged in the old VR, started tractor and guess what, it is charging now. I'm so sick of buying new parts that are worthless, I chased a ghost for nearly 3 hours today, anyway that's my rant, happy tractoring
