Keith don't blame Hartford, those are pretty common limitations on a homeowners policy. I think you will find all of their competitors have the same conditions. The jewelry and other high value items have to be 'scheduled' in order for there to be coverage at full value. The one you may have a beef with is your insurance agent who should have explained these limits to you and made sure you had the opportunity to get the coverage you needed. You could make a claim against his/her error and ommissions policy if they failed to do that.
