My dad always stressed about the finger thing.....then one day he has the bar off for some reason and it slipped and flipped when he was carrying it across the yard and cut a 6" L in his inner thigh. I remember mom screaming when she saw it and then rushed him to the doctor to get sewn up. He came home and still milked the 25 cows that night...that was 50 years ago and dad is still alive!
He cut many acres with the JD B and old 7 foot #5. It had that handy dandy foot lift assist on it to lift up the bar. I think it is still sitting in the trees back home.
We later got a New Idea 10' trailer mower and pulled it with a MF 135D with Multi-power...now that was a mowing machine!
