I know several cops. Nearly all of them are good people. Nearly all do their job as they are instructed. There are a few that flaunt their power, and a few that use poor judgement. Yes, there are bad cops.
Other than the OP's 3rd example in which there's not enough info to make an informed decision, it looks like the cops' actions were justified.
I will say that I don't agree with mandatory seat belt laws for adults, but if you get busted for not wearing a seat belt that's just part of the cost of personal freedom. If the old lady wasn't wearing a seat belt, she had the ticket coming.
IMO anyone that would defend someone operating any piece of equipment while under the influence on a public road shows the same poor judgement as the people that got the DUI's.
