Our County Sheriff is an old friend of mine. I told him once over a cup of coffee that I didn't think I could handle stopping a car with blacked out windows and walk up to it not knowing if there was a looney with a shotgun inside 'cause you couldn't see through the windows.
He told me that's one of the scariest parts of the job.
I did think it was a bit overboard when an overly zealous Deputy stopped a farmer for speeding and wound up booking him into jail for carrying a concealed weapon. The alleged concealed weapon was a hunting knife in a door pocket. How many farm pickups have a hunting knife in the door pocket? Probably most of them.
I never heard any more about it, so it must have been thrown out.
