The Black/Red wires are hot all the time from battery, like mentioned above you can jump the little one to bigger output. The Brown/White wire is the "on" trigger wire and it sends power to the alternator from ignition for charging, no need for a resister on these alternators, its built into the regulator. The solid brown wire is simply for the charge indicator lamp. If using this you would supply power to the bulb and this brown wire would get grounded by the alternator to turn on the bulb.
