Brennan's is still open on Royal street in the heart of the quarter. They went threw some rough times in the late 70's when the family was arguing over who owned the restaurant. They final settled it after years in and out of court. The 3 sons of the original owner own the original Brennan's in the quarter. The brothers and sisters of the original owner own Commander's Palace in New Orleans and Brennan's of Houston.
