LOL B&D you have that right! That's something I've laughed about for years, that elusive 40 plus MPG V8 with 4 BBL Carb. Because of what they are not teaching in school people don't understand that any engine based on size requires X amount of fuel and air, mixed together, to achieve combustion. A carb, with fixed fuel metering and variable and metering is a very inefficient device. That's one of the reasons that EFI which measures air and adds the correct amount of fuel for conditions drastically increases economy.
