Yes, your state does a good job on the roads, but it seemed like they were using pea-rock for sand! If anyone was close ahead of us you could hear it bouncing off the car, no chips in the windshield though. I was really impressed with the high fences and the ramps to keep the elk and deer off the road! Talked to a custodian at a rest stop and he said elk coming through the windshield of small cars were killing too many people. We stopped by Vail to use a restroom and could hardy find it for snow, just a narrow path through 5 feet of snow from the parking lot. Last year they were making snow at Vail.
