As far as cost to raise one? Probably a loosing proposition. I was talking to the owner of the tire store about it day before yesterday. He said he raised one a few years ago,kept track of everything. He said by the time he was done with buying the calf and all the feed he had over $2500 in it. I can sell you a nice grain fed Angus steer,delivered to the slaughterhouse,for somewhere in the neighborhood of $1800-1900. If you don't raise your own feed,it's just going to be an expensive hobby,then you'll have to eat something that has become a pet.
