I have a new project with a ford 3500 backhoe/loader. i've just gotten it and after examination i've found some issues. any help would be appreciated. i drove it home about 8 miles, the new temp gauge never got over 130. it was about 45 degrees outside, but i was running it pretty good. it did slobber a little bit out of the exhaust. I'm thinking someone has removed the thermostat?
my most serious concern is loud grinding coming from rear end when moving, sounds mostly on rear right, but its hard to hear with her running. its definately grinding on something. on this machine would this likely be an axle bearing? or something else?
