I'm going through a similar problem right now, only on mine it's not a virus but the hard drive gave up. Have a friend trying to get the info out but he only gives me 50/50 chance of saving it. As with you nothing critical but some photos and favorites. The biggest loss is email address book as I used outlook express which stores that info on the hard drive. Will do things different next time.
