I picked up a virus somewhere. When I"d restart the computer it would fill my screen with an ad for virus protection and I couldn"t do anything with it at all. No start button, no nothing. Control alt delete wouldn"t even work. I had the same thing a couple of years ago and was able to restart Windows in Safe Mode then run system restore to get rid of the virus. EZ But I must have picked up the new and improved version as it would not let me start Windows in Safe mode. Arrgh! Did a complete format and reinstall windows. Lost the virus. And everything else too. Oh well. There was nothing on it I couldn"t live without I guess. A few photos. Worst thing is A LOT of bookmarks/favorites, etc. Computer is sure a lot faster now though :) If I was dictator of all the world I would decree that if they caught a hacker or a virus maker or even some spammers I would cut both of their hands off. Simple as that.
