I ran mine with just hoses to the lower ports and breathers on the upper. This limits the lift height but I never needed to lift very high since I had a blade and just used it to plow snow. Basically the other lines and the oil in the upper part of the cylinders are just acting as a reservoir so that you have enough oil to lift higher without running dry. The cylinders do not have to extend very far to raise the loader on the 30 and 31 because of the geometry of the frame. Zach
