Robyn - To your original problem, there's only 2 reasons your Super M eats points:
1 - (Not very likely) The condenser is the wrong one, or it has gone bad .
2 - Your tractor was converted to 12 volts, but the original 6 volt coil was retained. It then needs ballast resistor added to the coil primary to knock coil voltage down to 6 volts. Otherwise the points will burn out VERY quickly.

Incidentally cheap, low quality points CAN wear out in a hurry. But even these should be good for a couple hundred hours of operation if everything else in the ignition is correct.
