The first thing to check is the battery voltage. Use any volt meter you have. A Volt/ohm meter works the best. See what the voltage is at the battery while setting. Then start the tractor and see if the generator is charging. If it is the voltage will slowly raise. IF it does not then your system is not charging.
Check the wiring out as you may just have a bad connection some where.
