A little over a year ago a life long local farmer passed away aged 93 or so. His younger brother spoke at the funeral. The deceased did not want to be eulogized, so the brother spoke in general about their collective youth, and upbringing. It was a good sized family, when the young mother died. With the help of the community, they survived, grew, and thrived. He repeatedly mentioned gratefulness, thankfulness, for family, community, and country. It was one of the best speeches I've heard. Your positive attitude reminded me of this. We have so much to be thankful for. Especially for those who willingly offer all they have to protect the rest of us. Even to the point of leaving the security of this land. We expect you to be part of this community for many more years.
