I have used the screw trick like some of the guys posted. The handiest tool is a seal puller like in the picture. You get the hook under the lip. Then put some force on the 90 degree handle and hit the back hook with a hammer. Most seals will just pop out. The one I have is a Snap On one. The cheap ones will break the small hook off.
