Must be a 1 holer, we had a 2 holer and I have seen some 3 and 4 holers when I was a kid. Very cold in the North central Illinois winters. Mom used a chamber pot and Dad had to dump it. He said he always had a bag or 2 of lime around to spread around in the hole to keep the smell down. Seems like there were always some bees flying around, scared me as a little kid. Finally got indoor plumbing in 1959.
