Would you forumers give me your two cents/recommendations regarding tire chains? I drive a 2002 3/4 ton Silverado and while the 4wd is great, I still find myself periodically skidding about a bit. That I can handle, but what I'm really concerned about is getting into a situation where the snow hits hard and fast and I'm stuck at work (45 min from home). In situations like that I take the back roads home and take it slow and easy, but I would hate to get stuck and have to call for help just because I don't have the proper equipment with me.
I'm looking for a set of chains that I can slip over the tire without jacking up the truck, that are primarily for road use, not off-roading, and that are of decent quality that will wear well. Anybody have any suggestions?
