I have many fond memories of our trees over the years, but I too must say that our best was our very first Christmas together. We were married in October 1969. Went on strike the day after we were married. Money was tight that year. My father-in-law suggested that we "go out back" to cut a tree. So he, my brother-in-law, and I take a hike out back across a few properties. Probably a half mile or so through the fields. Pretty deep snow. We ended up on my fathers farm. They picked out their trees, and I pick out this really perfectly shaped Blue Spruce and we dragged them home. When my wife and I set it up in our small mobile home living room it was just the perfect size. And here is the funny part, the next day or so my father-in-law was talking and saying how clever it was that we were able to go across the fields and sneak a couple of trees from our unsuspecting neighbors. He was rather embarrassed when I pointed out that that unsuspecting neighbor was my father. :D Should have seen the look on his face. Any way the tree was really the most beautiful and perfect tree my wife and I ever had. That patch of Blue Spruce still stands today, though they won't be fitting in anybody's living room now. That farm is now out of our family but still gives a lot of nice memories.
