Lou,No scope,and no synthetic,sounds like me years ago.It took me 50 years to figure out my rifle wasnt a peice of furniture.I use a remington 700 and this year sitting out in heavy rain that synthetic would look a lot better.My next gun is going to be camo and stainless.I used a friends 300 one year and shot a small doe,put a hole in her as big as my head,and she ran to the other side of the farm.When I bought my 06 I used 180 grain bullets and had problems tracking deer becaues of no blood,changed to 150 grain and I dont beleive Ive tracked one since.I usally kill 6-7 deer a year
