If you are really scared about this happening, install a mercury switch in series with the hot wire to the coil. Mount it solidly so that if the tractor rears up to an angle that you will not like, it will shut the engine off. If you have a diesel with an electric fuel shutdown, you could use it on that too. If a diesel with a manual shutdown, can't use it. If the tractor shuts down with the mercury switch, push in the clutch immediately, or you will get a bucking bronco effect.
