Ditch the ether right now. if your glow plugs are working, things cam get real ugly in that engine.
Check to make sure your tach is working when cranking. It's possible the CPS quit on you. You can verify fuel pressure while cranking using a tire pressure gauge on the Schrader valve. I also think the 911 type stuff has to go IN the fuel filter. The regular stuff goes in the tank.
Fuel heater in the bowl probably quit working a long time ago. Many of them have been unplugged because they blow fuses. I'd try plugging her in for a few hours with a heat lamp in the valley to warm the lines. Make sure your batteries are up, takes a LOT of juice to start one of those things too.
Depending on where you live, you won't find much more than a 60-40 blend at any fuel pump without having your own barrel.
