Powerstroke, no start, water in line water in filter

95 powerstroke. Sat through those -20 temps last week, can't get it to start this week. Will run on ether for a few seconds but will not start.
Put that "911" product in the tank (after drainging the filter and changing it.) Dash lights come on when cranking ("water in filter", "water in line" and the check engine light) Oil lever on dipstick is perfect, been plugged in and engine is warm to the touch.
Need to get it going today so I can deliver firewood to customers.

change all fuel filters, forget about fuel additives, use #1 fuel in the winter, only sure way to keep your truck going in the cold. It should have at least a 50-50 mix of #1 and #2 premium diesel in it in these cold temps, if it gets colder might want to go to straight #1

Back vhen I was driving truck. The fuel filters got changed once a veek in the winter regardless, there is water in the fuel and it vas cheaper to buy filters than be broke down on side of road.

sounds like you need to bleed the injector lines.
leave all additives alone. make number 1 fuel your friend and watch the forecast. always change filters in the fall and always run the motor long enuff when you put in blended fuel for it to get blended into the whole system.

I wonder if there was enough water in the fuel that it iced up the mechanical pump, and ruint it??
I'd drain the fuel bowl, and crank it for a while, see if it refills.

Just my thoughts.

good idea about verify fuel pump output--that fuel bowel also has a fuel heater I think] seen them short out & blow fuse-, that also controls injectors- ck fusebox- my thinking is maybe ice damaged element? you can unplug @ bowel if it is. good luck---

No injector lines to check on a PSD.

Ditch the ether right now. if your glow plugs are working, things cam get real ugly in that engine.

Check to make sure your tach is working when cranking. It's possible the CPS quit on you. You can verify fuel pressure while cranking using a tire pressure gauge on the Schrader valve. I also think the 911 type stuff has to go IN the fuel filter. The regular stuff goes in the tank.

Fuel heater in the bowl probably quit working a long time ago. Many of them have been unplugged because they blow fuses. I'd try plugging her in for a few hours with a heat lamp in the valley to warm the lines. Make sure your batteries are up, takes a LOT of juice to start one of those things too.

Depending on where you live, you won't find much more than a 60-40 blend at any fuel pump without having your own barrel.

Thanks for all for the suggestions. About 10 this morning it got up warm enough (almost 40 today)that it started.
New fuel and additive and I should be fine now.
Thanks, got the wood delivered too.
