Had the same situation when I was in college. I worked for a prominent machine tool manufacturer 4 hours a day on a scholarship/work study program. I put out as much product in 4 hours as most of the full timers did in a day. Christmas bonus was a big deal back them...get a big check, party, and lots of fun. Guys with 10 years or more would clear over $3000. I never got a thing. My supervisor felt bad and went to bat for me. They gave me a $20 check....said part timers couldn't participate in the bonus program......at least the next year I knew what to expect. I worked the different departments throughout college and worked my way into the engineering department. Would probably still be there if the Taiwanese hadn't copied our machines and put us out of business.
