Take off the head and pour boiling molasses into the bores. You may laugh but my neighbour had an old gas stationary engine that sat for years outside in our wet climate with the bore full of water. He tried every solution he could think of, then he discussed it with me one day. I gave him some molasses that we feed to the cows in a paint tin and in about 3/4 hour he was back with the piston in his hand! An old mechanic told me this trick years ago....in fact he said to set something soft under the bore before hitting the piston in case it got damaged coming out so fast!.....Go to Utube and watch car panel cleaning with molasses....cleans it better than a sand blaster!
