I have always gone with the bigger is better theory. I can't dispute one way or the other. I did however have a battery salesman tell me that bigger is not necessarily better in that the higher the CCA the more plates there are in the battery. Having more plates in the same size battery means the plates are closer together and will sulfate and short out quicker. He said to get one with enough CCA but to not over do it. I like having enough power to crank when I want it to crank.
