VA, I looked at your picture again and your faucet does look like an old pump. The one I was talking about looks like the cistern pump we used to have in our kitchen where the spout is just a horizontal trough the water runs out of. If the 'cistern' pump I'm thinking of was on the side like yours there would be no problem with the pants if it shot out water. Jim
