Happened to think, that sounds like Northwest Missouri, between St. Joseph and Rockport, and east a ways. In that area, GPS is pretty much hit and miss.
Sometimes it's spot on, other times it doesn't even come close. I was once trying to locate a food bank less than three miles from downtown Savannah, MO. Two different GPS units wouldn't locate it. I was driving around back roads outside of town trying to find it. I'd come to an intersection, the GPS would say, "Turn right on Road 326", then I'd look up and the sign would say "Road 468" or some such.
I finally stumbled onto the place just trying to find my way back to civilization. It's almost like there's a time warp in that area.
Also, same thing for the Plattsmouth/Peru, NE area. Something sometimes throws GPS off in that area, too.
The bottom line is, GPS is a tool and I wouldn't be without it, but you still need to have a basic idea of where you're going.
