Ours took Karate for a year too when she was around 5. I don't know what all she learned move wise, but she did discover one thing quite by accident. I was letting her punch at my hands one evening and she was putting out some pretty good punches to each one (on each side). Then she got a wild hair and gave me one punch right in the middle ((((((which for a 5 year old worked out to be just below the belt))))) Needless to say I was hurting, and talking with a fairly high pitch for a while..... Now days she knows that if a man ever lays a hand on her that that move is one sure fire way to put some real HURT on him.....
